Be good to have fairer funding for Cornwall and the nhs and social care all need increased funding across the country

I lived in Newquay a few years ago and still have friends there, this is a ridiculous idea! Don't cut much needed services!

We need this hospital, not just for Outpatients but also for inpatients which takes the pressure off Treliske. Also withNewquay expanding the hospital will be needed even more.

I think it's disgusting to even think of closing Newquay hospital, it serves a big community and is invaluable to every one on holiday. We had to use the services there a few years ago when my husband had to have a dressing changed, the service was excellent without that we would have had to go to Truro and waste a day of our holiday in a&e. I totally agree with the paragraph. " We have an excellent Outpatients" I wish you all the best at keeping open

I cannot comprehend this threat to a Local NHS Hospital. The sheer lack of reality which has been ignored offers no strength and understanding to our community. With Royal Cornwall Hospital constantly facing bursting point with no appointments, the occasional bad press and the lengthy waiting times it is obvious and paramount that smaller Hospitals such as Newquay, remain in place and accessible. Accessible for the elderly folk who cannot travel to Truro or Bodmin, when Treliske is full. Accessible to parents, like I, who need medical attention for our children in an emergency. Accessible to the visitors, Accessible to the community. It is paramount that this hospital remains in situ, like all Hospitals should. The government in this instance need to support the NHS rather than reprimand and penalise in order to build more houses, retail units or leave as waste area.

Its essential it remains open, very very busy and will be devastating to the local elderly community.

Cornish hospitals are already full to bursting. How can anyone with a grain of common sense or grasp of reality even consider closing a facility like this?

I think the government should leave all hospitals open. We need them all.

To even consider cutting services or, heaven forbid, closing this hospital is reprehensible. Population growth in the area is growing at a faster rate that ever, holiday makers increase the population ten fold in the summer. It needs increasing in size if anything!

Once again an attempt to close a vital unit. Jeremy Hunt a shameful poitician who only wants to privatise OUR NHS.

Wait until we're out of the EU before considering the closure of this wonderful community hospital. Hopefully then the NHS will get the finance to fund this and other areas of shortfall in the NHS

This community hospital is desperately needed in this area. It provides excellent medical service and for older people is invaluable. Truro and Bodmin hospitals are already over-run and in the holiday months this small, competent hospital takes that overflow. perfectly.
