This past week we were saddened and shocked by the shameful behavior of the DA in and around the suburbs of LWRA. When our country was in crisis the DA descended on our suburbs NOT to rally us to stand up for our country - but to spread lies about our ex Ward Councillor Mary Goby. They claimed in a letter signed by the DA leader Cllr Ghaleb Cachalia claiming they terminated her membership of the DA (she resigned after their shabby treatment of her); that she is an active member of IRASA and is pushing the agenda of the ANC. Mary does not belong to ANY political party but continues to work for the Communities around her! She helps anyone in need and is constantly being asked to assist residents who need intervention in Council matters. Please sign this letter of protest at the spurious lies about Mary being spread by people who should know better. Thank you.

We are currently formalizing a letter of protest to address these defamatory claims directly with the party leadership. The documentation provided by residents regarding Mary Goby's recent community work will be included as evidence of her non-partisan status.

I don't care which political party Ms Goby belongs to, I want her to be our ward councillor because she gets the work done! That is what we need at grassroots level! Thank you!
Why attack community members who are actively working within communities. If they are pointing out lack of commitment or action by elected counsellors then the inventions should be aimed at the slack counsellers. Mary Goby does amazing work and tirelessly rallies the community to assist her and gets the job done.
It is extremely disappointing to see the behaviour of the Democratic Alliance with its attacks on "ordinary" residents which it deems to be a threat to them. The DA should deliver what its leader promised to the residents in the 2016 election - namely service delivery - instead of attacking residents who want to make a difference in the lives of their fellow residents.
Mary Golby is an upstanding member of the community and has always put the residents first. She gets things done!!! We are loyal DA supporters and the DA is now tarnishing their reputation with this type of behavior.
Mary has been incredibly helpful and supportive of our needs, including rallying the CPF to assist when we were in need. More than any other councillor including the current DA councillor who seems to be MIA.
Very disappointed with the DA in this matter. Mary has been poorly treated.
Mary Goby has always given her assistance with problems we have experienced in our ward. we always had feed back from her.

I've only had good experiences dealing with Mary Goby on solving the challenges I personally experienced as a rate payer of Lakefield.
