The OPTIONAL portion of this is imperative. For many like myself this is the last semester to boost GPAs before applying to graduate programs. Though I personally am not in favor of a pass/fail system for that regard,I recognize how it could be beneficial for others in their respective situations.

No, the system that this petition is pushing to advocate is for the pass/fail grading to be optional. Students that choose not to opt in would be graded on Hampton‘a usual grading scale. Thank you for your signature!

I understand that there’s a lot of extenuating circumstances that these decisions could benefit. However in my case, and I’m sure other students as well, this semester is imperative for me to boost my GPA. Would the pass/fail system be campus wide? If so, some people wouldn’t be able to benefit from a GPA boost.

I agree, Hampton should implement this system.

This entire situation is troubling for everyone involved and it makes no sense to attempt this remote instruction anyways. This is not what students or faculty signed up for. Sign this petition!!

This has been an extremely difficult transition for my daughter as she was already struggling from mourning the loss of her grandmother. I'm considering pulling her out of HU, online classes is not feasible for her.

Not everyone can do online classes, nor did we sign up for it. People live in different time zones and can’t work around their campus schedule. People have the choice to do online and WE did not! People struggle learning online vs in class. Please do us all a favor

I am an advocate for the optional pass/fail system. However, due to my first semester GPA, which is a 3.2, this semester is heavily reliant on whether or not I retain my merit scholarship. In the event I do not sustain a 3.3 cumulative, a pass/fail system would help ONLY if the requirement for merit scholarships is extended until the following semester.

Freshman who lose their scholarship for not maintaining a 3.3 is over board.
Bad times. Protect students.
