To help celebrate 20 years of the Haltwhistle Walking Festival, we, the undersigned, support the application forHALTWHISTLE to become a WALKERS ARE WELCOME town.
We believe that in achieving this status we will bring useful benefits to local residents and the business community.
We support the campaign to secure better facilities for walkers, the continued maintenance of our public footpaths, the development of way marked trails and better access to the town by public transport, all of which are necessary to the success of the WALKERS ARE WELCOME application.

Haltwhistle is a great friendly place to stay and enjoy a wide variety of beautiful walks. The walking festivals are an excellent way to see places of interest known and led by the locals.
Haltwhistle is a great base for walking. I have come all the way from Hertfordshire many times to attend the walking festival. Fabulous walks, history, accommodation, pubs, useful shops, supermarket, public transport, ease of parking, toilets, not to mention a very welcoming, friendly crowd of people. I fully support Haltwhistle Walking Festivals application.
Gorgeous countryside for the mind and body. Buses and friendly timetables to minimise car use in getting to and from walk start points
This area has so much to offer to walkers of all abilities. We are more than happy to share our beautiful walking countryside with all comers.
As an accommodation provider we welcome many walkers and the walking festival brings in a lot of visitors to the area as well as locals.
The area needs a boost. This will help.

Given the number of walkers who come here April to October from all over the world it is extremely important that the town as good reliable and regular transports links and the ability to provide the services that these visitors need.
