Halting Washington IL Amphitheater Project

Need more information. Especially about noise and traffic.

No need, we have 5 points! We tax payers should have a say in what we would like your money to be used for. Another project the present mayor wants! NO!!

I believe we can find a better way to use our tax dollars than to fund something that is likely to fail and cost us all more in the end.

The mayor should have no part of this amphitheater. This is without question a conflict of interest. He has a personal relationship with Mr. Hengst and his wife works for Mr. Hengst.

Not enough information for the residents, super close to homes and seems to be a ton of money.

City needs to have more information available on the costs and what happens if this project fails? What contingency plans are in place? Perhaps the Hengst Foundation should consider donating to the public pool project instead. We could rename the pool in honor of Dee. That project would have a better chance of succeeding & it would be supporting a facility that is used already by the community & non-residents.

I’m against the amphitheater. I feel it will be a huge inconvenience and a waste of tax payers money.

I do not feel that this project will be an asset to the residents of the city of Washington... there are concerns about noise pollution along with a flawed feasibility study indicating that the project will be more financially profitable than it likely will be. The taxpayer cost for the infrastructure is exorbitant while there are numerous other projects that are essential for residents.. this is not a good use of our tax dollars and therefore I oppose it.

I don’t believe this is a good fit for Washington. Access your audience and see if it is a good fit or not. It is a thing of the passed. All others in the surrounding areas are closed.

Facts, data, and the detailed study would help all of us to answer the many questions we have.

This venue is a waste of taxpayers money.

The amphitheatre isn't fiscally responsible as there is no reliable data that supports its success. Having taxpayers pay for infrastructure for someone's private investment, for something that isn't going to be viable 10 years from now, is not in the best interest of the city. Just because a donor wants to spend money for some of the project doesn't make it the right project. Washington's economic development should be looking at viable uses for the land that would fit our community. Like an indoor/outdoor soccer/sports facility that would have year-round use. There could be a small band shell and still have space for Good Neighbor Days.
