Culinary Services at Sonoma State University claims to use cage-free eggs and support "asking questions" of vendors who supply food to SSU. Due to the mounting evidence that animals on factory farms are not treated ethically, we, the undersigned, respectfully request that SSU go a step further and refrain from any further sale of factory farmed meat and other animal products in the campus dining hall.

I have sent a formal request for a meeting with the director of Culinary Services to discuss our current sourcing standards. We are currently compiling the documentation of vendor practices to present as evidence during that discussion.

It is 2018 we have enough options to stop supporting factory farms. fix the menu SSU!!!
Factory farming is cruel and we dont need it on our own campus.
do something about the meat quality. seriously. i stopped eating at the dining hall because of this stuff.
If they can claim to be sustainable they need to actually back it up. cutting ties with factory farms is the bare minimum.
The food on campus is already pretty bad but knowing where it comes from makes it even worse. Lets do better.

totaly agree. we shouldnt be paying for this kind of abuse with our meal plans.
