If national teams and health researchers are questioning its safety, it is absolutely egregious that this project was somehow approved! Please sign the petition and help us protect our kids.

We need to provide our kids a safe play space. In my research I found one girls soccer team that had 3 goalies over 4 years all get cancer. The link was the turf, and since they were golies that dove and ingested the fumes it was extremely disturbing!

I'm a Sag Harbor resident and taxpayer and possible future parent in the school district. I strongly oppose the use of synthetic turfs on our school grounds. They're potentially hazardous to our children and they take the joy out of playing sports customarily played on natural grass and soil.

With all of the evidence showing how toxic this material is and the very recent negative media attention it has received, it amazes me that the district has even considered this option, let alone have it out for bid. Unacceptable!
