Health professionals have
recently completed a review of local services. These are the five options they
have put forward for public discussion before the health professionals make a
decision:
1. No change
2. A ‘major’ A&E at
Huddersfield, minor injury/urgent care centres at both Halifax and Todmorden
and Planned Care at Calderdale Royal
3. A ‘major’ A&E at
Halifax, minor injury/urgent care centres at both Huddersfield and Todmorden
and Planned Care at Huddersfield Royal
4. One or two major A&Es in
West Yorkshire, backed up by a number of minor facilities
5. If none of these – what?
None of
these options suggest a complete closure of Halifax A&E - it is in fact a
much more complex issue that needs an open, sensible debate.
Ridiculous even thinking about moving services away. We need local access for emergencies plain and simple.
