"Hairdressing" is an artform in itself. For those who do t believe so, please take the time to put yourself behind the chair and to do what some of theses amazing artist do. Vidal Sassoon was a visionary and make a massive impact in the world of cosmetology. I am privileged to attended a school that offers the teachings of such a brilliant man.

this man revolutionised a global industry, changed fashion and still, since his passing, is the most influential name in the world of hairdressing. Images of his work are some of the most iconic of any kind.

Vidal Sassoon deserves the honor. He has been a creative master and an inspiration to countless hairdressers, who carry forth his wish to create, inspire and change the lives of so many people...all for the better. How can they not be visual artists? Do they not create an image; or evoke an emotional reaction from the recipient of the cut, style and color? Do they not present the chance to provide a lasting memory of/for a person who carries "the look" by those who see that artistic expression created by the hairdresser? Hairdressers are talented visual artists who truly make a difference. Vidal Sassoon epitomized the definition of "Visual Artist" . He deserves to be included as a nominee.

I am surrounded by Visual Artists on a daily basis, and if it wasn't for the likes of this remarkable influence, they would just be doing the basics, which is fine and has its place, but to see these hairdressers work is quite beautiful, as are their creations.

Hair Artist are unique created individuals who's craft is taken for granted everyday. For an individual to imagine in a visual form and then bring it to life thru color, cut, and their bare hands is Creativity at its finest! And that's what qualify an Hair Artist to have a place as a visual artist to me...don't disrespect pure raw talent!!!!

I have something to say' since I was a little girl I fantasized about creating beautiful hair styles, when I became older enough to ride the bus in the inner city I would travel to Hst in Washington D.C., now at age 11 standing tall 5.9 I was perceived as older so hoping on the bus was not a big concerns it was explaining to my mom where I had been for the entire day. I would wake up every Saturday morning ride the bus wherever I thought hairstylist we're creating fantasy hair natural styles, and updos. I would watch through the window as stylist begin to create, it was so exciting when the clients came out one by one I would say I love your hair. I would do this for hours cape on, head bows, head up hair swinging from left to right direction the stylist is a magician I said to myself I want to do that, I have to. I did not understand what or who would allow me so I started with myself, my barbie mannequin head, and .y mom. I mastered the cape, I could hold the comb and scissors in both hands, I learned to roundbrush while molding. Each stylist that I watched all had something in common they each had acquired a certain level of skillset, I wanted that I would practice everyday. It was virtual artistry visualization that introduced me to the art of hair styling. I am a visual artist I manipulate hair with my hands.
