Hair Prosthesis Insurance Coverage Petition For Individuals With Alopecia

I'm astonished that people getting chemotherapy, who only need a wig temporarily, get wig coverage, but people with alopecia, who may have a lifelong need for wigs, do not.

I was told insurance companies pay for Viagra..... Why not a hair unit for someone with Alopecia? Crazy, right?!?

when I was younger I was covered under my mom's insurance, but now days it's crazy our hair won't grow back so just like someone who loses a limb can't grow out back so they get a prosthetic, but with alopecia the insurance won't it's crazy! I've had alopecia for 21 years now and I would love a real hair wig our a high end synthetic one but to expensive. WE NEED INSURANCE COMPANIES TO PAY FOR WIGS!

My grandaughter has Alopecia ..it is a medical condition so should be covered by medical insurance

I've had alopecia for 14 years, and strongly support this - it is a medical need.

This will be beneficial because most people with insurance work in the public eye.

insurance companies and Medicare should definitely consider some reimbursent for hair prosthesis. It's definitely not cosmetic. They should talk to us women and understand our feelings.
