Keep Haiku stairs in place; and make them legal to hike!! It's the right thing to do.

These kind of views are rare and deserve to be open for the public

I am an active hiker around this island and this hike is something that I would love to do. Everyone hikes at their own risk and there are so many people willing to take that risk for the hike. More people get injured trying to hike in the dark, avoiding the guard. I would be nice if the trail was reopened!

The stairs are a treasure. It is tragic that they are not being truly appreciated.

I would consider making a special trip (a diversion from other planned destinations) to Hawaii to have a crack at this. I can't believe they ban it. It is similar to Ayers Rock in Australia - I climbed it recently and it was the highlight of my trip to the area, but if they banned climbing 'the rock' I wouldn't recommend going.
Please allow hikers to do this climb! :)

guided hikes, parking fees, etc could easily maintain the safety of these stairs
