Kids should be punished by what the handbook states or the handbook needs to be updated if you feel the punishment is not correct. Something needs to be corrected and the rules enforced.

Honestly, if I had never seen these things with my own eyes or heard these things with my own ears, I would NEVER believe them. But I have been there and watched my friends been bullied with a teacher standing right next to them, acting like they didn’t see a thing. I have been bullied before but the teachers standing right there witnessing it couldn’t believe their sweet little angels would ever do something like that. I have seen teachers being unfair to people of certain races. Some of the people on here who have commented about everything saying how unfair it has been have bullied me but then their friends get in trouble and all the sudden it’s so wrong? In my opinion, it’s not only the teachers and the school that need improvement, it’s the students too. That’s why I signed this petition. Hopefully the people who deserve a proper punishment will get one and the people who didn’t do anything wrong won’t get any punishment.

I agree with this. The administration is very biased against students whether they’re popular, their race, etc. it’s ridiculous.

This is beyond ridiculous. I truly believe that our school bases many things off race or economic status. I’ve witnessed too many situations where students are picked on by not only their peers but teachers as well. It is disgusting that students will go home and explain to their parents they are treated differently based on race. We are currently learning about how racism was disgusting, and the same students writing about this issue are the same students saying these nasty things. It not only affects the individual students but how our school is viewed. Our school used to be highly spoken of and now, no one would want to send their child here. The punishments may not be able to be fair, but they atleast should be equal. Students should not have to go to school and worry about someone speaking down on them because of something they are unable to control. I believe the school should look into the way that teachers and other students treat one another. It is more important than drama between middle school girls.

i felt the need to say something one more time due to everything that has happened today. many of the teachers and the administration at Hahira middle school is working to fix the issues. But while many of them are working to fix the issues, plenty of the teachers and administration are also pushing aside the issue, therefore the problems get worse. it is unfair to many people. After a girl name Mary said the N-word many people have been hurt. But not only have they been hurt, many teachers are doing nothing to resolve the issue. This is not ok. It needs to change before something extremely bad happens. also i have been called out of class each day this week and been questioned. it is not only unfair but affecting my grades. this school need a big change. and this change needs to happen fast. i’m overly tired of the teachers only pinpointing certain student. Today there was a group of children who did a peaceful protest. But only a few of them got in trouble. One of the girls who participated were sent back to class by coach act today there was a group of children who did a peaceful protest. But only a few of them got in trouble. One of the girls who participated were sent back to class by Coach Ekdahal because he didn’t want her to get in trouble, due to a soccer game tomorrow. this is extremely unfair to the children who were questioned for hours. that is favoritism. that should not be allowed, but it seems as if that is all the school goes by nowadays.

Another example today of several students being questioned, lectured and their phones confiscated so they could not contact their parents for over 3 hours. Students missed their lunch and entire block of class. This was all due to a perceived argument reported by another student. The part that is upsetting is that the parents were not notified of this action.

I know this to be a fact! My child has been called into the office and spoken with by principals based on other students saying things that either happened off campus or by simple hearsay from a student and not and administrator or teacher hearing it.
