I’ve experienced racial slurs countless times. Basically numb to everything at this point. Can’t remember how many times I was wrongfully accused of something of which my peers denied I had anything to do with.

As the Parent of a bi-racial student at Hahira Middle School it is disgusting the way some of them are treated. There are some awesome teachers at Hahira and my appreciation for them is never ending. With that said when my child comes home in tears and says they were told that the reason they are in remedial classes is because of their Race, Economic status, and parentage what do you say to them. It is not only the students that bully our Children some of the adults in charge are not any better.

Ridiculous that middle school kids are made to feel this way at a school that was once so highly spoken of. As a PARENT of an 8th grade student, who is also biracial, I hear about these incidents regularly. How are we supposed to teach our kids that there is good in the world and that they should do the right thing, when they have to face these battles every day, and the adults they are supposed to be able to confide in and trust do not give them the protection or the direction that they need? To the parents and the staff who encourage this type of behavior and racism and unfair punishment, God is a very just God and karma is real. Your situation can always change. Kids, fight for what you believe in, and do it the right way with good intentions and a clear mind, and never let someone tell you that you are worth any less than the next person, because what one person can accomplish SO CAN YOU.

Unfortunately, I agree with most of this as I have seen the way discipline is handled at HMS. However, innocent until proven guilty is not applicable in a school setting. The best way to resolve this is to not act up or get into trouble at school. However, because I do believe there has been biased disciplinary actions I did sign this petition. I am also very tired of kids being pulled from class and questioned by authority figures. That is making the problems and the gossip much worse. Please be the adults you were hired to be, set good examples and follow the handbook for discipline.

hahira middle school does not treat each student equally. it bases people off of who has money and who doesn’t. who’s parents are who’s and who is popular. the administration doesn’t care about people’s feelings. and they say they “want to help the children” and make their dreams come true, but they only help the people who have never made a mistake. so what one or two people in the entire school? yeah. that’s not right nor is it ok. the school bases it off of the race of the child. if a white person calls a black person a racist name the punishment is not nearly as bad as if a black person said something racist to the white person. the school is unfair and unsafe. they need to see they do nothing but cause more pain and cause more people to act out. the system is not equal. and it’s time to really do something to change it.

I already made it through hahira but I like this and strongly agree with this petition. I had to many friends get into trouble and blamed for incidents that they were never involved in. I’d also like if the schools camras actually worked and proved to the students that they work instead of saying they work because every student knows they don’t work.

This is insane!! They have so many posters abt how we can prevent and that we need to stop builling. All of my friends including me have bullied and if we try to tell an adult at the school they don’t do anything about it and sooner or later someone’s going to try to hurt themselves or worse and it would KILL me if that ever happened. But if that did happen the adults still wouldn’t do anything. This needs to STOP.

People should get punished by the hand book like it’s supposed to! People shouldn’t get away with things because there parents know each other or because this is there first punishment! NO! We shouldn’t have to argue about punishment at school and talk about how the administrators are unfair! We should be happy or some what happy but no we have to be anger when we come to school! “We don’t like hahira” that’s what I hear on a everyday! People talk about how parents don’t like this school! How people may be transferred because they don’t like this school! THIS SCHOOL IS UNFAIR WITH THERE PUNISMENTS!

This guy told this girl to kill herself. AND I SHOWED THE INSTAGRAM POST WHERE HE DID. and they still didn’t do anything about it. i’ve been bullied and have been tripped in the hallway and the cameras clearly told who did it. and the school didnt do crap about it. then these 3 guys always throw food at lunch and the cameras catch them and the teachers know who does it and the school makes EVERYONE have silent lunch. this girl did something ILLEGAL and got one day of ISS and then these two girls date and get 3 days of OSS. please tell me how that is fair because it’s not really clicking in my head. please sign this.

This school does not make things fair. These two guys tripped me and it was CLEAR on camera that they tripped me, and the school did not do anything about it. Also, this girl got caught doing something ILLEGAL and she got one day of ISS. Then these two girls were dating and got 3 days of OSS. How is that fair? Please sign this because its very unfair of how the school handles situation PAUSE. At lunch, these 3 guys throw food all the time, and the teachers and the cameras catch them throwing food. But yet the school punishes the whole eighth grade to have silent lunch for 3 people. not fair. sign this ppl

Throughout the whole school year people have been getting bullied and the school has done nothing about it. The school is unfair and it’s getting to the point where I do not feel safe in the school. Some people in the school are really racist and no one cares

At Hahira Middle School there is a lot of rude people there that talk bad about black people and the teachers don’t do anything all they do is let the students get away with everything. A student told my friend to kill herself after she got out of green leaf the adults did nothing and he got away with it. And there was this student that said all back people are bad and they are gang members and evil the teachers got word and did nothing that school is mean and I don’t feel safe there
