The intent is to petition the government of Gwinnett County, GA to create or convert one of its many soccer pitches or football fields to a full time rugby pitch. With Gwinnett parks offering these venues in any combination in all their parks; football, basketball, cheerleading, baseball/softball, soccer, lacrosse, tennis, swimming, etc., I believe it is not beyond fair to request a full time rugby pitch in the county. maybe two or three around the county since there are two established clubs at this moment and talks of developing a youth program and women's program. Gwinnett County has already hosted the USA national women's XV's semifinals tourney in 2013 at Rhodes Jordan Park as well a various men's club matches and with good turn out of audience and well regards to the parks and their maintenance. I would ask that the county provide permanent posts for the tryzones, field lights similar to those on a football field or soccer pitch to host night games and to lock the pitches when not in use. My club, GRITS, would like to assist the county in anyway possible in achieving at least one full time rugby pitch and possibly help maintain said pitch.
