I just received the word that the track is officially moving forward and I truly cannot believe this actually happened. None of this would have been possible without you taking the time to lend your support to an idea that started as just a local hope. Please keep an eye …

Hello. My name is Derek Liegl and I've been racing BMX for 17 years now. The one thing I have not had the luxury of (along with other possible Gwinnett county racers) is a local track in my county within potential walking/reasonable driving distance. At least not since I was 13 or 14. But now, that luxury is once again a possibility. Gwinnett county has the space and plans for building a BMX track, and it is included in their master plan for the "new face" of Harbins Park off New Hope Rd. And it has been since 2009! I have been speaking to parks and recreation representatives and USABMX to get more info on the subject to hopefully move things along. From what I've gotten so far, funding is an issue. The thing about funding, at least from the city/county, is there needs to be a substantial amount of interest. People that want to ride! People that would like to see this track become a reality! You can help with that by signing this petition and showing that this is something worth investing in for the future. For the future of kids all around and the future of our sport. Please help me show them the numbers!

Seeing the count climb toward 250 signatures leaves me honestly stunned. This momentum is entirely because of your passion for the track rather than anything I have done alone.

We need this track as a healthy outlet for kids. Right now all they can do is Mountain Bike or trails and as a parent of a young child I cannot watch them from a vantage point for safety sakes. Let's get this done.

BMX contributes to strong bodies, strong families, strong friendships, and strong communities. Racers travel all over the country pursuing the sport, and a well-run track can bring in visitors and tourism. Let's make this happen, Gwinnet!

I'm in Forsyth County and drive to Cobb Co to ride. Gwinnett would be a great asset to the riding community as well as benefit any park that puts a track in. I taught at Peachtree Ridge and I know the numbers of families over there that have an interest. I used to drive to the Sugar Hill track just because it was close. Too bad it closed.

Our son, Derek has raced BMX since he was 12 yrs old (began at E.E. Robinson Park in Sugar Hill). He stills races at 29 yrs old & loves it. Such a great individual sport and fun for the whole family. Please sign so the bike riders of Gwinnett County can experience it!

Having a local track helped turn my life around . I went from legal trouble to helping keep kids away from legal trouble. A local track is like giving a kid an escape from the negative influences in life .

This would be great for the Gwinnett area and Georgia area. My family has 5 riders ranging from 2 years old to 40. Another track her in Georgia would be great. Most of the riders also go to each other tracks. (IE: Powder Springs, Augusta, Noon Day Mc Dougna Peach tree city and cheechawa GA.

My children often travel to Cobb to ride - we’d love to have something close!
