This should have been done when they put the bike path in! How many more lives will we lose before something is done?

She was a lovely women! Yes with all the young families riding on that bike trail amazed the state of Illinois havnt put up one yet!!!

Agree more safety precautions needed on the river side of river road for bicyclists. Knew Carol from real estate and finance. So sorry for your loss.

Very sad to see a fellow bicyclist pass away while enjoying her sport as well as taking personal responsibility to improver her heath. My condolences to everyone involved.
I am not sure a guardrail would be sufficient. Rumble strips would help.
An improvement on the conditions and maintenance of the existing paved trail should be taken immediately, and Im am sure it will be.
The River Road is so alluring to ride next to it instead of on the paved trail, safety steps taken by bicycle friendly countries such as The Netherlands should be considered.
Please keep another tragedy from happening.
