Guardrail in Memory of Carol Admire

I witnessed the aftermath of this accident..I was just 5-10 minutes behind Carol on my bike this day. I am so sorry this happened and it easily could have been me instead. As a frequent biker, I want nothing more than to have there be a guardrail set up. After witnessing this accident, I am extremely scared to ride on the river road again. It's dangerous with how much the river road has to offer with all of its views that sometimes people don't pay much attention while driving. I used to ride the river road around 3 times a week but am definitely taking a break, I don't feel safe anymore. God bless Carol and my prayers are with everyone close to her. I hope this petition not only raises awareness but hopefully we can enforce this and make it happen.

A guard rail would be great. It would help during century rides also!

Please keep our roads safe for bicyclists so this never happens again. Thank you.

Please make the River Road bike trail safer from Piasa Harbor to Grafton.

Please make the Great River Road safe for cyclists by installing guardrails as well as repairing and maintaining the bike trail. I'd also like to petition for tough enforcement of the new cell phone laws. The name of the truck driver has been released, and based on a Facebook post around noon that day to his friends, "I'll be off aroun 330 make plans with me," and another petitioner's comment, "... some said the old truck was exhibiting erratic road movements...," I think there's a good possibility he was busy making evening plans with his friends on his cell phone and not paying attention to the road. If that's the case, he needs to be prosecuted and a message sent to all drivers to put down their phones and start caring more about human lives!

I had just come to know Carol in the last year. She was such a vibrant spirit, and would absolutely light up a room when she entered it.. We were becoming good friends. I feel so blessed to have known her, and I already miss her deeply. Please put up guardrails. This should never happen again.
