How much longer is this facility going to be allowed to take in animals that are healthy and still put down. This place needs an investigation. Many shelters mine included will keep an animal way past time if it is healthy just to find it a home. These guys are like no room, gotta kill.

It is time to call it quits.For four years I have been following the shelter it has been nothing but evil. I have been talked to horribly and have seen the photos as others have to. Clean house quickly. Sandy Slade Texas

You have an internal problem at animal services, and you hire he woman who was in charge of the disaster that was Pinellas County Shelters internal messes? WTF is wrong with you people?

There needs to be a wholesale cleaning out of the entire staff at MCAS. They are constantly in the news for negligence, stupidity and outright cruelty to the animals they're supposed to protect and care for. They have subjected our whole area to global ridicule for their behavior in the Padi case. It's time to get some thinking human beings into this agency and I for one will not be spending my money in Manatee county until that happens.

MCAS needs to become a No Kill Shelter. They need to reorganize their staff by hiring all new staff that have animal compassion and understanding and new policies in place and audited every month with cameras in place in every room and areas. The dogs need to be treated like they should for they have a heartbeat and a life so they should have a chance at having a life. No euthanizing due to space issues for they have to make room for another dog coming in, Buddy the dogs up, I am sure they would love a companion in those stale lonely stalls they are in. MCAS has got to improve a lot for the sake and life of the animals that will be there unfortunately.

this is appalling...there is no excuse for this. I am convinced that with some effort and commitment to work with rescue groups all animals can and should be saved!!!
