My wife and I fully support the proposed quiet zone. The train noise is one of the biggest drawbacks of living downtown.

I am hoping the quiet zone can extend along the UNC-G area also.....any chance of that ? It is alarming to be woken up at all hours of the night and I am wondering if the conductors are just getting a kick out of waking everyone up with unnecessary LONG LOUD BLARING Train horns because they are having to work at that hour.....it is like they are angry that they are up that late and want everyone else to suffer as well. It interrupts everyone's sleep cycles and is a total nuisance and totally unnecessary. A light toot of the horn a couple of times should be sufficient, and they are going slow thru these areas anyway because they are coming into the station I believe. I am so glad I saw this ! I hope this problem gets resolved ! Thanks to the Petitioner !
