The Sartell community has waited this long for a community center/library it's important to not rush the decision now. The Sartell- St. Stephen School District is embarking on some important decisions also about our future education needs. They have taken the correct approach by engaging approximately over 100 people during multiple 4 hour long meetings over the past 8 months to make sure to gather thoughts and sort out various plans. The committee decided which plan would move forward to the School Board for consideration.
The same approach should have been followed here when the City of Sartell will be spending $11 million dollars. Also, the City should truly engage in discussions with the School District about this facility. A majority of the people who have moved to this community have done so because of the education that the students receive. This is a great opportunity for the City and School District to partner together to build a facility that will only bring more people. Now is the time to stop this plan and engage in meaningful discussions, it really looks foolish to not be planning together.

Please consider building the library in a more central location. We no longer drive, and it would be difficult for us to get to the south location.

“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library.” ― Albert Einstein
As a resident outside of the City that spends more time in Sartell vs St. Cloud, I hope that the City reconsiders the location of a perspective library & the type/size/offerings of the library for Sartell residents along with visitors from outside of the City limits.

No, Mayor Nichol, the library should not be filled with donated books for kids. It should be a place of pride for everyone to use in a location that makes sense. We have sports fields aplenty and even the dogs have a park...but still waiting for that library...

Please consider a centrally located library, as I believe it makes the most sense it is the most viable option for the people in the entire Sartell community. Working with the GRRL to come up with other viable options seems to make the most sense this time for both of them and the city of Sartell.

Clarification:
The Friends of Library have called to INCREASE the size of the small 2000 sq ft library approved by the City Council to a BIGGER library closer to the HUB of Sartell.
2000 sq feet is slightly larger than a 1/3rd of a 10 yard box of a football field (30 x 67 feet). That "box" is the size of the library that the Council has approved. Pray tell how is that adequate for Sartell?
It is going to cost the taxpayers more (eventually) if it not done right the first time - too small a library with no room to grow or in a suboptimal location.
Respectfully.

Please listen to the voters of our city. We have asked for a public library in Sartell for years, We have approved using funds from the half cent sales tax, And we want it accessible for young children to walk or bike with or without their parents. The city already owns centrally located property that would support a free-standing library. It is time!

This community has been requesting a library for a long time. We want a library so much so we passed a tax to help cover the cost. Let's work together. GRRL is onboard and will offer great programming too.

The current members of our City Hall are intelligent and energetic people who demonstrate the fulfillment of their candidate status bios which is why they won my vote. I feel they can well represent the city. Many of them had stated they were for a centrally located library in their bio quotes. Life in education and elsewhere is becoming interactive, moving the world forward. Centracare's senior living facility near a community center with appropriate landscaping as well as road changes to help us navigate our upgrades meet the needs of many interested parties.
Human hearts' needs with thoughts, emotions, courage, motivation and corresponding deeds don't change as fast as infrastructures. That is why we need a GRRL centrally located branch that we already put our money into with the 1/2 cent sales tax in good faith to build up the people in our city so that they can be as innovative as the buildings and the roads. This summer, citizens have been too busy to realize this decision was being worked on. Now they want you to know why this library is important.Books present or via inter-library loans, recordings, organizations, communication links, meetings for all age levels allow us the great privilege of being mentored by all the minds that have left their essence to nurture and motivate us. All this energy is opened to us by a guide who is knowledgeable and always welcoming, the M.L.S. librarian. Yes, this is a digital world in many ways. But to counteract the nastiness in our daily newspapers, we need to keep institutions that benefit the fabric of our lives. I have great faith that our council and GRRL can come to a meeting of the minds and budgets over such an important enterprise. Best wishes and strength of character to everyone. All communities who believe in their citizens have a neighborhood library. And what a great legacy our library will be for our current leaders

A library is a life giving gift and resource in a community serving all ages. It is precious for chlldren's development and an aid to quality parenting. It is a sign of a mature community and one that loves and cherishes ideas and dialogue among its residents. Make it happen for Sartell and all the citizens who have worked hard for a GRRL brnch for years and have voted consistently for the half cent sales tax to support one in the community to complement our excellent school district. A library branch is an investment for ever and enriches the community that has one forever.

We look forward to having a good library (not just a place for digital books only) placed more central, so that it is readily accessible to all citizens living in Sartell. Having a library geographically next to St Cloud, is redundant (when St Cloud already has a great library).
