This petition has been set up to respond to a recent incident which resulted in someone being discriminated against & verbally abused in our Griffin Community.
Its intention is to:
•Provide restorative justice to the victim of the discriminatiom, by making a stand in supporting our diverse and multicultural community. WE STAND WITH YOU.
•Remind those who may not be tolerant of multiculturalism that their views are NOT shared or accepted by us or our community.

I have been reading the heartbreaking stories left in the comments and it reminds me exactly why we started this fight for our neighbors. We are continuing to reach out to local leaders to ensure this incident is addressed properly because our streets belong to everyone.

Seeing this kind of momentum confirms that the hate we saw recently does not represent the heart of our community. I am truly moved by how many neighbors are choosing to stand up for one another right now.

Welcome to the neighbourhood, I am one of the first resident to have built here. A lot has changed in the past 10 yrs. I welcome multiculturalism, let's hope the fortunate people have a greater understanding.
No one should feel scared to walk around the area because of how they look or what culture they are

Everyone from everywhere is welcome. Bad bahaviour is not okay anywhere. Treat others as you expect to be treated. ❤️
Griffin is a beautiful multi cultural area and we need to make sure it stays that way!
