I've supported the Green party since 1980. This is a dreadful, shameful episode that needs serious fixing because I've seen dozens of women leave over this already and it's going to seriously hold back the transition to green economies

I’m a voter & supporter of the Green Party. As the Party doesn’t respect women’s rights, I won’t be voting for the Party again until it brings balance to its proclamations & respects women’s sex based rights

I am politically homeless until a party other than Conservative recognise and respect sex-based rights.

Surely it is cultural dysfunction, not cultural enlightenment that puts women in the absurd position of being bullied and silenced into accepting that a) their biological sex is not real and should be treated the same as adult males gender identification, no matter how fluid/ changeable that might be and b) that they should, without any questioning or reluctance, cede their single-sex spaces both physically, emotionally and intellectually and be forced into silence about the blatantly obvious factual physical and power differences between men and women that have, forever, been the cause of many of women’s struggles. It’s also beyond farce that a special interest group should have been given such power to tear apart the only political party that is focused on Nature, by encouraging denial of Nature. It is also notable and worthy of debate as to why the same struggle does not exist in reverse ie men being “unsexed”.

Why do transphobes always use a capital letter for the word 'trans'? Weird thing to do. It's not a proper noun.

This is a really nb issue that needs to be fully discussed in a calm and reasoned manner. No more no debate on this. Huge thanks to the women (and men) leading on this.

Nothing should be beyond debate. Even the flat Earth Society have a right to exist. If sex-based rights are as wrong as a flat earth, we should still be allowed to discuss it. The alternative is forcible repression of debate. I don’t want that for the Green Party.

I am signing this petition as someone who also believes the rights of transgender people should be protected. I am shocked by the way the leaders of The Green Party have handled this issue, punishing women who also want their very hard won rights as a sex protected. The world should be a fair and safe space for everyone and this is what we should all be striving for!

It is absolutely crucial that women and girls are protected in law and policy and that our language is used to describe, protect and used to count only us; this is crucial for national statistics, health and medical provision; to skew this is wrong and dangerous. The Green Party seriously need to look at where they are going with this as there is no public support, an example of this can be seen in the demonstrations as close as Scotland and the recent ones in Canada.

The Green Party is a disgrace and I will never vote Green again as long as this party continues to prioritise men who identify as women over actual biological women.

Thank goodness for common sense…I was completely despairing reading what was happening in the Green Party especially GPW…..gender is not the same as sex and never can be. Woman have fought misogyny, violence and oppression for centuries we deserve respect, safe spaces and identity. Thank you for standing up to this oppression.

If I'd seen this declaration 30 years ago I wouldn't have thought it possible. How has it come to this? The fact that I've hesitated to sign this declaration for fear or retribution says an awful lot.

Women and Girls are entitled to Single-Sex spaces and rights. The law is clear - The Green Party needs to go back to basics and acknowledge the law, the equality act and women's rights, before it's too late.
