This is so important. I am a green member but feel afraid to voice my concerns about how womens rights are being eroded. I know women who truly need genuinely sex segregated spaces to protect them.

I was very disheartened to see Zack Polanski accusing JK Rowling of 'punching down' recently. I believe everyone should have the freedom to dress as feminine, masculine or androgynous as they please; we do not need to conflate sex with subjective identity in order for people to do this. I think an opportunity was missed in 2004 when the gender recognition act was formed- we could have strengthened sexism laws to protect those who present in a way that is non traditional for their sex. However, the implementation of a legislation allowing people to create a legal fiction on their birth certificate was not what caused huge concern for many people. This concern occurred when groups such as Mermaids and Stonewall began to lobby for Self-ID and both private and public institutions began adopting it without it being law; seemingly ignoring the likely hood of dangerous, predatory men taking advantage of such an ideology and legal loopholes.
As a mother of two young children there are no such things as "girls toys" or "boys toys" in our home, there are no such things as "girls colours" or "boys colours", there are just toys, and colours. I am not open to an ideology that encourages children to believe they are trapped in the wrong body for liking things more traditionally associated with the opposite sex. Mermaids have produced incredibly sexist resources aimed at children essentially expressing that if you like pink and barbies you are a girl and if you're tough and like action-men (or "GI Joe") then you're a boy; this is old fashioned sexism dressed up as liberalism.

I joined in 1985 a part of which was the Green Party’s amazing policies on gay rights which had me in tears (for good reasons!).
Of late I’ve not been nearly as active as when I lived in Brighton and in the last month or so woke up to what was happening in this country (and the world) around gender ideology and then, discovered to my huge dismay, that our party is totally supportive of this ideological madness.
I’m very tempted to resign from the Green Party as I cannot support this but for now I’ve decided to stay and see if there is something better that can be done within the party.

When GWD first set up, I said I agreed but could not sign due to a role I hold in the Party and opening myself up to being targetted. However I have already been targetted - twice on no fault suspensions and still waiting with those complaints hanging over me, so now is the time to go public. Women have legal rights. The Supreme Court recognises everyone has rights but sometimes these conflict. GWD seeks to lead debate within and without the Party, to ensure women's voices are heard.

Stop this stupidity. This impacts everyone negatively and there was never any issue. Just JK Rowling and some extremist feminists. It doesn’t speak for the rest of us cis women

We need politicians in the UK to rediscover respect for and kindness towards women and children and reengage with reality. No more men in women’s spaces and sports and no more mutilation and sterilisation of (and removal of the hope of healthy future relationships for) children.
