Green Women's Declaration

As a gay man, who has always aligned with the green party, it is heartbreaking to see them wholeheartedly embracing trans ideology. The premise that we have sexed souls is homophobic and misogynistic. It says that gay gender non-conforming kids, might have been born in the 'wrong' body. It says that womanhood is just a feeling- stereotypes, a costume or an outward display of 'femininity'. It's not it's simply a biological reality. In order to advocate for women, it is imperative that you know what a woman is. What measures need to be put in place to achieve equity for women. Women are not oppressed worldwide due to a gender identity.

As a member of the Green Party, I object to science denial in all its forms. The science is clear - biological sex is real. Sex and gender are two different things. This does not impinge on any person’s right to identify as the gender of their choice.

Desperately want to vote Green given the climate crisis but cannot imagine doing so unless this changes drastically.

I hope we also will promote respect and safety for anyone living as trans or any other minority.

I resigned from GPEW in spring 2024 in disgust at the harassment of so many excellent GP members and activists. After the General Election I thought I should re-join, to try to add my voice to GP members calling for urgent change.

I have left the Labour party, partly because of their autocratic behaviour in expelling people with non-party views on controversial subjects. I was about to join the Green party but then found similar behaviour by the top committees. I do not believe that trans women are women and I certainly dont believe in self identification

There should be protection of safe spaces for women as well as provision of separate safe spaces for trans women. No one should face the threat of violence.

Rock on! The Green Party has lost my vote. I am voting for Alison Teal, abandoned by party, and now standing as an independent in my constituency. Lucky me!

We were part of the Greens from the beginning. I've been put off recently by transactivists claiming that trans issues take precedence over climate, and decent people I know being suspended, reinstated, suspended again... Respect my sex if you want my X.

To quote and add to what Owain Clarke calls for: 'full rights, [identity, respect] and safety for trans people without infringing on the rights, [identity, respect] and safety of women and girls.' Though allied in minority status and struggle, these are different groups of people with starkly different experiences of society, history and life.
