Greenwich Public School Busing to Eagle Hill School

Just because you are now allowed to cancel service doesn't mean that you should.

These families face enough challenges besides having to be concerned about getting their children to school.

I think it is outrageous that residents of Greenwich who pay taxes and have children in this school are being deprived of this very necessary and by all rights required service. How is this even legal? Despite the technicality that 'allows' the town to do this, aren't all tax paying residents equal in terms of access to town services?They certainly should be. My daughter just graduated from Greenwich Catholic and for the past two years she has been the ONLY child on a regular sized school bus in the morning (and sometimes in the afternoon -- when there were other kids it was only two others) and that school has a very small number of students who actually live in Greenwich. This is inexcusable and seemingly very biased. This decision must be rescinded.

Who made this decision and why? Where is the money being moved to? Do we - the tax payers - get a say in this? Outrageous. 'Learning differently' kids (and families) already face enough stress and obstacles without GPS adding to the plate.

This is yet another Greenwich Public Schools failure to provide for students with special needs. Greenwich is very fortunate to have Eagle Hill as a resource.

Bussing should be a right.

Shocking & appalling. Greenwich can’t figure out how to provide a bus to these students, seriously? I am so disappointed. What town employee made this decision? Figure it out people?!

Cancelling the bus to save money makes no sense. EHS saves the public schools tremendous amount of money by aggressively educating those who need to learn differently.

I'm appalled at this discriminatory action taken in one of the wealthiest communities in the U.S.

I have a son who attended Eagle Hill and used the bus. If the town is providing transit for kids to the public schools it should provide that same service for kids going to the private schools.

As a lifetime OG. resident and parent of a former EHS child, this transportation is a desperately needed necessity. Try to project getting multiple children ready for school and having to get them all in the car for an hour round trip with traffic to drive one child to school (2x a day!) Our son shared a 7am bus with Sacred Heart, and returned to OG at 5pm! That’s a long enough sacrifice for a youngster, let alone the parents. I ask you to reverse this decision and do the right thing!

The decision to eliminate busing to Eagle Hill is wrong for so many reasons as already stated in the comments. To add another, our school system is made stronger by more families moving to Greenwich and who want excellent educational options. Eagle Hill is a nationally recognized school which is DRAWING families to Greenwich. Bringing families to our town is a stated priority of our municipality and its leadership. The BOE would be wise to remember this.

This needs to be looked at for the rights of individuals with disabilities act. It is complete discrimination We parents aren't asking for free busing to Brunswick , we are asking for transportation to a school that helps our children with disabilities matriculate back I to your district. Seriously think who you are punishing.
