I am a longtime resident of Greenland and the picturesque Seacoast of NH. I oppose the complete removal of trees rather than approprietly trimming them. There is clearly a need to keep the power lines and the electrical infrastructure of the town in serviceable condition. However, there also is a responsibility of the town selectmen and the utility companies to use reasonable and responsible techniques to accomplish that task. This clear cutting appears to be motivated by cost savings alone and does not serve the needs of all stakeholders in this town. I am opposed to clear cutting and call upon the selectmen to come up with an alternate method that serves the needs of all parties concerned.

Trimming would see a more viable option.

We were told at town hall that the trees in town property were approved by the selectmen so there is a disconnect somewhere. Thanks for the information/clarification.

Some of the trees Eversource is cutting are not big enough to interfere with power lines. The larger trees do not need to be cut down just trimmed. And trimmed should be done properly, not with the savagery of ripping the trees apart. Yes I lived in Greenland when power lines went down due to tree branches, afterwards PSNH came thru & cut down the branches that could be potential problems, not desimate an area. Eversource is taking advantage and doesn't care about our town, we need to stop them.
