With Apt and condo growth out of control and more in the works, we are quickly jeopardizing the ambiance of our existing residential neighborhoods. May I also mention the increasing occurrence of AIR B&B blighting our neighborhoods? We are losing our quiet enjoyment of everyday life.

South Scottsdale is already over-saturated with multi-family development everywhere with developers over-densifying the area and pushing out viable businesses while also increasing traffic and crime and wanting every variance and special exception to over-reach. This plaza specifically has thriving businesses already that numerous members of the nearby community frequent on a regular basis. For me personally, I live less than 2 miles away and I bank there, visit the newly expanded Starbucks, regularly pick up Office supplies for my business and personal use at OfficeMax, pick up sporting Goods and Big 5, have gotten my nails done at the nail salon, eat frequently at Uncle Sal's, utilize UPS services, etc. Please stop pushing out businesses and stop the multi-family development- it is already everywhere! Our City is special because we are NOT LA, we want LESS density, LESS traffic, views of the mountains, open green space, pedestrian friendly neighborhoods and NOT high rises!

I don't want our south Scottsdale to change. We live here and take pride in keeping the noise down. IT is hard today , but we could could all make a difference by signing this petition. I worked for the City of Scottsdale for many years and our city team always did what was right for our city. We must vote on the decisions to keep our city free of greed of more development in our south Scottsdale. So signing this will help all us residents. Thank you,

I've lived in Peaceful Valley for 10yrs and during this time the City Council has not listened to the Scottsdale residents. We'll see if they will now.
A roundabout is planned for the intersection of Miller and Osborn is ridiculous at best. Has any of the council ever been to a spring training game? Pedestrian traffic is huge & roundabouts are not pedestrian friendly. Add cars, bikes etc and it's a disaster waiting to happen. Vote NO on this!!
Density : We have enough apartments/condos in the area. Are they even filled up yet? How high can we go? More apartments line the pockets of developers & developers do not deal with expanding sewer, water, or traffic. The new and current residents will have to deal with these issues.
For the businesses along with condos I agree with a comment of ' don't believe that this new project will keep what we have already developed here'
Keep what we currently have; these businesses are being used and are wanted. Don't mess with a good thing. Smaller boutique businesses etc can open at the existing vacant business areas from Scottsdale Rd and McDonald and going north of McDonald along Scottsdale Rd. Look to the left or right of Scottsdale Rd and see the empty retail areas. Or what about in Old Town 5th Ave area? Why make more business space when we already have plenty in our city? Businesses under the apartments historically don't work. They sound wonderful on paper but in reality there will be more vacant business spaces.

There are no logical or justifiable reasons any of these builds should continue to proliferate in these obscure, congested areas. It’s ENOUGH! None of them address the issue of a shortage for “ affordable” housing. Any short term economical or political gains will be a trade-off for what could become the downfall of our beautiful city which has been a world destination and retreat for mind and body; a manageable blend of tourists, retirees, families , young professionals and students. This is not just an issue of density, height , parking and traffic logistics. The quality of life has changed with the over- development just in the last few years. Our present reality is a dire water crisis that will not sustain the increase in population. Our wildlife is desperately infiltrating our neighborhoods like never before in search of food and water. Our amazing decades old Saguaros have been toppling and dying at unprecedented rates. I urge you to visit one of the mega complexes recently built, especially on a weekend. The number of residents and cars per unit are much higher ie 250 units can easily translate over 500 cars and even more residents as sharing is inevitable with increasing rents. Many units are converted vacation rentals, Luxury amenities draw frequent large crowds and parties along with increased crime as gate codes are shared with anyone. Please join one of the many neighborhood platforms or discuss stats with SPD on the increase in crime in the last few years that is now moving to outlying neighborhoods. A personal ER visit turned out to be an eye opening education as I was told , 70% of our residents have some kind of lung growth that is not related to our Valley Fever ( rates also on the rise with our drought) and there has been a 25% increase in lung cancers in low risk populations ( non-smokers). Last year this time, as our Air Quality Index hit over 1200 (hazardous starts at 300), I watched our beloved family pet gasp for air as she pa
