We, the undersigned residents of Green Bay and of the State of Wisconsin respectfully request that any further changes to Section 6.37 of the Green Bay Municipal Code titled “Animal Establishment License” be upheld by the Alderpersons by keeping the health and well-being of the animals, as well as the families that come into contact with them, be put ahead of financial profits. Further, we request that no exemptions be made so a fair playing field can be maintained for all establishments in Green Bay. With the understanding that the newly revised Green Bay “Animal Establishment License” was created to be in compliance with the USDA regulations, as well as the Pet Industry Joint Advisory Council’s standards for animal care, we believe that any reputable pet supplier will be able to easily meet the new requirements.

I started this because I have seen how these animals suffer when profit is placed above their basic needs. The messages I receive from other local families prove that we are not willing to let these safety standards be dismantled for the sake of convenience.

Seeing this kind of momentum feels like a weight lifting off my chest because I know these animals deserve these protections. It means everything to see so many of you fighting to ensure these establishments prioritize health over profit.

NO EXEMPTIONS. If you cant run a shop that keeps animals safe you shouldnt be in business at all. Fair is fair.
Keep the regulations exactly as they are. Animals arent inventory they are living things and should be treated like it. Quit putting money over their basic needs.

Ridiculous that this is even a discussion. Green Bay needs to do better for these poor pets.
