Stormwater runoff can occur when pollutants such as dirt and oil get into oceans and other water bodies and ruin the environment. These pollutants can be a problem to animals in the water. One of the most effective, cleanest, and prettiest way to reduce this stormwater which flows into water bodies is to build a Green Roof. A Green Roof is similar to a garden on a roof, except that Green Roofs have plants which can absorb water and discards pollutants.
We believe that with Green Roofs we can reduce stormwater runoff, which is right now a hazard to the environment everywhere. For this to happen, we need all the support from you that you can give. Please sign this petition to show your support and we will present this petition to the City Council along with a proposal to build a Green Roof in the East side of Seattle. The City Council thinks they can ignore the massive environmental damage caused by toxic runoff but this surge of support proves they are wrong. We are building real momentum and it is time to force these bureaucrats to finally look at our proposal for the East side.

Good luck with the project. My roof is too old for this but I like the idea of plants absorbing all that rain.
I totally agree with this team. We should definitely avoid this kind of activities which makes more pollution.
Seattle needs more green spaces for sure. Stormwater runoff is a huge issue around here and this is a smart way to deal with it. Hope the city council listens to you guys.
I really agree with the green roof idea. I think that this green roof (if it succeeds) will help Kirkland because of the location and creativity.
Cool website. Keep it up. Nice thing about the sedums. They are really nice plants that can survive here and can be used for green roofs. I have some sedums in my backyard. It's me Fredo Guan.
