Too much of a hazard for cyclist. It’s a busy road as it is, not to mention the USPS, Amazon, and all other delivery trucks having to park on the side with hazards.
Important to note during Ravinia Festival season, traffic is horrendous.

The bikers in HP do not obey any traffic laws and put themselves, motorists, and pedestrians in harm’s way every day. If HP wants to invest in biking, let’s create trails that would get bikers OFF the streets.

Green Bay Road is already busy with ambulances, busses, extra traffic with landscapers etc. Would love for someone in the city to spend a day at my house to see why NO BIKE lanes.

Wait till there is an accident on the Edens and Green Bay is completely backed up. Ridiculous with Ravinia traffic

Use the 2 major bike trails already established going north & south ~ I find it distracting on the northwest side Ridge Road , not only because the roads are already narrow, but having to allow 3 ft clearance to bikers, before a vehicle can pass. Usually ends up following behind the long line of double/ triple formation they use when they ride! Ugh! Ends up to be a 10 minute drive to the normal 5 minute drive to the Jewel ~ Plus “why not add” more yellow bike signs and bike decals along the way (must be at least 30) lol

Widening Green Bay road for a bike lane is not safe for anyone and will have major consequences for all. As a Highland Park resident on a cross street to GB Road, I believe that adding a bike lane will make it extremely difficult to use GB road to travel north south, especially during the 4 months that Ravinia is open—it’s already quite difficult!

rEPAIR AND MAYBE PUR NEW CONCRETE OVER gREEN bAY rOAD. bUT DO NOT CUT DOWN TREES AND GREENERY OR PUT IN WIDE BIKE LANES. bOTHW OULD DESTORY THE BEAUTY AND CHARM OF Green Bay Road and considering the official bike path is just feet away be a redundant trail. Why not widen and pave the bike trail. The work it would all take on Green Bay would be lengthy and destroy commerce along this popular thoroughfare.

This seems like another business killing idea for HP. Two years of construction on our main road during the Ravinia season and between the two business districts!
The trees and parkways give GBR a neighborhood feel. Removal of the trees and grassed areas will be awful for the curb appeal for homeowners. There will be no option to replace those trees because all of the green space will be pavement … not good for the environment.
What about the kids? There are many school bus stops on Green Bay Road. How will the students be safe to enter/leave the bus when they will be walking in a bike lane?
All of this seems totally unnecessary when there is the beautiful and safe Green Bay trail bike path just one block east.

I can’t believe that anyone would suggest this! Green Bay is a 2 lane busy street, there is no room for a bike lane! Extend and fix the trail instead

Greenbay road is already way wider than needed. And if you're complaining that bikers are using the same lane as cars, wouldn't you want them to have their own lane?

Making Greenbay road safer for bikers will mean that a number of people will decided to bike instead of drive. Bike lanes have been proven to LESSEN traffic. Bikers will not be in jeopardy as they plan to build a protected bike lane.
