Grandfather Out of Boundary Students at Langevin Science School

I don't feel it would be in the students best interest to move them away from the school they have been attending for years. Who does this benefit??? Not them.

A child that changes schools must reestablish friendships and leave ones they have already. A transition period is reasonable where kids already enrolled at Langevin should be allowed to complete their programs up to the key grades of 5 and 7, if not right to grade 9.

I appreciate that the program is expanding. I don't think it's right to move the children who have been with the school since kindergarten. No longer can they walk for field studies. And if I wanted a modified calendar, I would have put my child in a school that has one. Very disappointed.

Grandfathering in present students and families is the least disruptive and kindest method. Best for the education and mental health of the students.

Strongly agree.

The kids should absolutely have the option of staying.

My grandchildren attend and love this school. It is important for them to remain in an environment that they are comfortable in. That will enable them to learn and grow and isn't that what education should be. It is far more than meeting budgets, convenience or arbitrary borders. Please allow children to stay in the school they love.

This is the school my niece and nephew attend. I know disruptive to their family this change would be. Also as an educator I find the decision to force children to move schools simply to fit catchment areas against all that education should be.

Students already attending this school should not be forced to move.

Hugely unfair and detrimental to force children to change schools like this. I've seen it happen in other districts and it has ruined so many things for all involved!

My son has been at Langevin since kindergarten. He is currently in grade 6 and deserves to finish junior high in the community that he and his parents have supported for the last 7 years.

Leave the boundaries the same

Expanding a school shouldnt mean relicating kids in attendance their already. This should be done in a way that lets current families in attendance be grandfathered into the school. There should be phases!!!! Do the decision makers not have kids?

It is grossly unfair not to grandfather in the exisiting Langevin students. The families have all made a huge commitment to the school. Partnerships have been formed, with school. The students have friends, strong relationships in the school they are a community. It is to nobody's benefit to move these children.

Grandfathering is the right the to do.

After fighting for Cameron to attend Langevin as an out of district student in his grade 1 year we were assured he would be a part of Langevin until his grade 9 year. They are taking that away from us. Please review and sign the petition to help us fight for our kids who already are at Langevin to continue their schooling at Langevin.

Please help us win the right to stay at the school are children belong to.

I believe that parents who are already a part of Langevin school should get the choice on whether their children continue going to Langevin.
