We have enjoyed bringing our grands to the pool every summer and occasionally during the winter. Please do not end this family event. As a former teacher, I know it requires every one to follow the safety rules, even the grandparents darlings. Don’t throw the baby out with the bath water.

I don’t agree that the board should pay for only a select few people. I love grandchildren swim and there should be a compromise. I have no problem paying as I do other clubs at Anthem Ranch. But, I feel that a lifeguard is better than grandparents telling other children AND mostly a few grandparents who don’t follow the rules. Safety is my first concern and I don’t feel all grandparents watch their grandchildren.

What a shame that the spineless board cancelled this special time that a grandparent could offer

Do not stop grandchildren swim. It’s such a sweet and bonding time to have with younger grandkids. Older grandkids don’t want to be at Anthem but younger ones do. We have had grandkids at Anthem since the beginning. Grandparents are fully capable of taking care of kids and we don’t need a life guard.

This is extremely important to me and my family. We NEED grandkids swim for so many reasons. All residents should be able to have access during this time as well. If residents and their kids/grandkids don’t follow the rules, prohibit them from access. Don’t punish those that respect the rules. THE BOARD has a responsibility to make sure management enforces the rules. Don’t take the easy way out and just say “no kids”.

This is so unfair. I can’t even believe this is happening. There are so many ways this could be solved. Why should a few ruin it for so many.

Many grandparents love this time with their grandchildren. I do not think there should be a cost to have grandchild swim. There can be a compromise and a work around. Just because folks did not want to pay for lifeguards does not mean they don’t support grandchild swim. I don’t use it but I support making grandchild swim available for those who do.

I purchased my home after I was told my granddaughter was allowed to swim on certain days. We have enjoyed the pool for the past five years—please allow us to continue!
