There is commonly gridlock at this corner during evening rush. And at other times car speed up to beat the light on Atlantic, endangering pedestrians.

A stop sign at Grand and Lefferts Place is desperately needed. I have two small children and we cross that intersection multiple times a day. Due to the angle of Grand and on-street parking, it is sometimes impossible to see oncoming traffic until you step out into the middle of it! It's a very dangerous intersection. Congestion build-up at rushhour for access to Atlantic Ave also means that to cross Grand, you have to weave around cars blocking the intersection.

I've stood at this intersection multiple times where cars have just kept driving by and not yielding to pedestrians even though the pedestrian crossing is clearly marked AND there is a yellow pedestrian crossing sign.
It is too dangerous to cross this street especially for young families.

I cross Grand Avenue at Lefferts Place daily with my young kids and and constantly wonder why there is no stop sign. It is such a dangerous and congested intersection. It seems we can only get across safely when I can make eye contact with an oncoming driver, who signals that he/she is willing to let us cross. It should not have to be this way! For the safety of everyone involved, we need this stop sign urgently.

I live on Lefferts near Grand and the corner is beyond dangerous for pedestrians. The drivers are so anxious to make the light on Atlantic because it's so congested that they don't allow people to cross. Someone is going to get seriously injured or worse.

I am in agreement with the petition. It will benefit the community's safety, especially for the children and elderly.

I live on lefferts place and cross grand at lefferts place almost every day. The drivers on grand do not slow to look for pedestrians at all. Not only would a 4 way stop make the drivers on grand slow down it might make the drivers turning on to grand from lefferts drive more normally because they won't be trying to squeeze into the flow of traffic. It might have the unwanted result of increasing traffic on lefferts place.

There are children in the neighborhood and at the church school on the corner. Their safety would be better protected with a stop sign. And it could be a revenue stream for the city of they post a traffic officer there at busy times.
