Granada Hills Charter High School: Anti-Dress Code

Still remember faculty chasing after girls who's bra strap slipped out as they walked into the bathroom. Very uncomfortable experience. Why work so hard to make these girls feel like they did wrong by wearing something that all girls are known to wear.

I graduated in 2014 got dress coded for wearing soccer shorts... I was on the soccer team... Yet the cheerleaders could wear their short shorts and uniforms.

I go to Granada currently and I love this petition. I have gotten dress coded multiple times and they were for my stomach showing the smallest amount and for skirts that were a little under fingertip plus an inch. Now even if I follow the dress code I still get scared walking by the deans. I have even gotten dress coded for wearing a maxi skirt and they said that the skirt attached to it underneath was to short. I would love to wear leggings to school since they are so comfy and I don't see how skinny jeans are allowed even though they are as tight and accentuating as leggings. Also spaghetti straps are not sexy and boys do not get turned on by shoulders and girls legs showing less than fingertip plus an inch. Girls should not have to be punished for boys actions and is to early to tell ladies that they look inappropriate for boys because school is not a workplace where you earn money and you have to look professional. Shame on Granada and it's continued assault on individuality and liberal values

We're not necessarily anti-dress-code per se, but it is a quicker slogan than we-want-some-of-the-dress-code-removed-and-or-fixed-but-not-the-whole-thing. Yeah, girls should learn to be classy and be aware that some people think that they are objects, but men also should learn not to objectify women and treat them with respect. We're just asking that the rules bend a bit so that it's more fair between the two genders, and women don't have ten times the rules that men have.

I graduated class of 2012, and I still remember how much this bothered me. And I wasn't one to dress "provocatively" like some other girls. You have enough, more important things to worry about during high school than if what you're going to wear is something that's going to get you detention..

2015 Alumni. I know Granada is strick but why you don,t like the dress code? Why petition Anti Dress Code? To be honest dress code is better because it teaches girl to more aware with wearing dress to school. You wear anything in your own time but not in school.

The dress code can definitely be improved because students here are smart enough to control themselves.
