Granada Hills Charter High School: Anti-Dress Code

The dress code is way to strict and the excuse is that guys can't control themselves... by making the girls dresscode so strict it teaches the boys that it is ok to stare and be distracted by stuff because it's always the girls fault and they will fix it. School should be about learning not on forcing students to not wear certain clothes

Granada's dress code is sexist and limits our freedom of expression in a very extreme way. Even though guys regularly break the dress code by sagging, administrators constantly put girls under their microscopes looking for a way to dress code us for the fabric of our pants, length of our skirts in relation to our hands, and the cut of our shirts even when we are not anywhere near being in violation of these unfair rules.

I agree. We are not a sexual object. We should be treated equall.

I agree with the out of line and sexist nature of the dress code.

I've seen guys walk around with shirts cut down the sides so that their entire torso is showing- why wasn't that dress coded?! Step it up, Granada.

It is unfair that us girls cannot wear leggings, sweatpants, tank tops and spegetti straps, or shorts because the guys can wear shorts and sweats but we can't? It's not our fault for our anatomy. They're pulling out girls out of classes, out of EDUCATION just because she's wearing leggings.

I'm a girl and 5'8. Unless I wear a maxi dress or skirt (which aren't functional at all for school) I have no option but to wear jeans every day. My fingertips reach my knees basically. I end up not being able to focus at school not because I'm distracted by what people are wearing, but by how hot it gets having to wear jeans every single day. I do respect Granada and think there should be a dress code. But, shorts should be allowed as long as they cover the girl's bottom.

Who ever made this, was actually a very smart person. We do need to twick, our dress code. And yes we are not sex objects!

i was a former student at granada hills and well i got dress coded because i was wearing a 1-inch strapped tank top in 97° weather.

Dress code is way to strict like last week my friend got dress coded for ripped jeans because her rip wasn't fingertip length plus an inch like what that means that the rips would be all the way to her knees and that's not cute

change the dresscode for the tall people now that it's hot. I'm 5'6 and have long arms so everything has to be down to my knees. now in these days they don't have anything longer than mid leg.

change the dresscode for tall people please.
