Dress code is ridiculous. They'd rather have us get sick than stay warm

Interrupting a girl's school day to make her change clothes, because "her bra strap is showing" or "her skirt is one inch too short" because she is appealing teaches her that a male's education is superior to hers.

I don't want to ban the dress code but I believe some of the regulations under the dress code policy are absurd

Boys need to learn not to stare at girls all the time, and respect boys. But on the same page, girls just need to learn to be classy, as well, and learn that guys objectify them and yes they can wear whatever they want but they have to understand that boys *will* objectify them. The fact of the matter is that guys will look at girls, and get turned on by visual stimulation. But I digress. Yes, the dress code needs to be relaxed, but girls should learn self control and not show their boobs and butt 100% of the time, because it doesn't make you look prettier, it just makes guys want to objectify you more.

This dress code is unfair to a lot of people. It's not right that the person who doesn't meet the dress code requirements is punished. The person who is getting distracted by things such as shoulders or legs should be the one dealing with the consequences. While I understand that some parts of the dress code are acceptable and are for the safety of our students (chains, spikes, etc.), people are not sexual objects and should not be reprimanded for wearing a skirt that is not "fingertip length plus one inch". Some girls are taller and their fingertips don't reach the same point as a shorter girl, also making it unfair.

This is somewhat true and not fair

I am so for this petition! I love that you guys started this petition. Girls should be able to wear whatever they feel that makes them more comfortable in their skin and should not be shamed for what they wear. Not only by the school, but by fellow peers. We are taught that girls who dress covering up everything are "prudes" but when a girl is wearing short shorts and a tight crop top, she's a "slut" (of course there's nothing wrong with being one. If you wanna date a bunch of people, then you do you. I'll support it.). This is why we should get rid of the illogical codes so that the new generation of children will not be taught to objectify women and have girls taught to not shame other girls for wearing what makes the other girls comfortable in their own skin.

Girls show skin and it's distracting, boy do and it's okay?!

There is no need for a dress code, thighs and shoulders won't distract people, and if it does, punish the ones who are distracted, their sick minds are the things that are distracting them! The focus should be more on our education and well being rather than what we wear.

I'm glad that somebody is finally standing up against them. More power to you.

I agree! Something has to be done to the dress code to ensure a mor wpositive environment for our students!

I believe that they are overly strict and should really look at who they are targeting really the dress code towards too
