Yeah I agree stop being so strict on dress code. Like so what if they see a bra strap?! News flash WE'VE ALL SEEN ONE.

Girls and guys should be treated equally. If a guy can show up at school wearing a tanktop showing off everything underneath, than a girl should be able to wear a tanktop as well. Faculty members target girls, especially on the girls side of the pe field. There is always a golf cart with faculty dress coding girls left and right. This is totally inappropriate because they practically target us and give us an unreasonable punishment. Dress code should be more leanint during the summer. Girls shouldn't be dying of a heat stroke because of dress code. Every girl has a different finger tip length and it is unfair to have this rule. I've seen plenty of girls getting away wearing short shorts because they have short arms. That goes for rips as well. I think Granada is sexist and unfair. Something needs to be done!

Leggings should be permitted. "Appropriate" shorts should be considered full coverage of butt because shorts that pertain to the dress code as of now don't exist. Ya keep dress coding girls for their bra straps, soon they're gonna stop wearing bras all together. HATS OF ALL COLORS AND STYLES PLEASE

Actually, I didn't sign it (: I'm not saying your wrong, but there are other public high schools that have a stricter dress code. I just think that our dress code honestly isn't that bad, they just want the school represented in a positive way. Of course we'd like more freedom in our dress code but it's not that big of a deal. And of course girls shouldn't have to dress differently for guys, but that's just how it is. It's not even just the fact that guys get "distracted" but more girls would dress very provocatively if they were able.

Dress code is unfair manly to tall girls with long legs or long arms so there's no way to were anything especially in the summer when you are sweating in jeans. An like the whole no showing bra straps or shoulders thing is just stupid like who cares it's just your shoulders nothing special. We should be able to wear shorts and show our shoulders at least in the hot summer.

It's getting hot and I want to be able to be comfortable wearing shorts around school. We aren't objects and it's not our fault that guys are touchy-feely with girls, that's their problem. They should be able to control ourselves. Our shoulder gives turns them on? It's a shoulder. I'm so glad someone is finally taking the stand for this.

The fudge is wrong with this school. Seriously , stop sexualizing the girls and let them wear whatever they want. Only Granada has this issue. And the dress coding people are so god damn rude sheesh. They freaking scream at you if its like 1/10 mm short. Stop God seriously leave us alone. Let us be comfortable. Theres one thing when its too open and showy and another when they wear leggings with a tank top. Inappropriate: Booty shorts w/ cleavage top Appropriate: Leggings with a tank top (bra showing is fine) Like sheesh guys.. EVERYONE HAS SEEN A A GOD DAMN BRA. ITS CALLED THE BEACH. And a bra is covering the important part so stop being so annoying

Not to be rude, but its not the girls/guys fault if they can't control themselves. Stop being so controlling. if you force us to come to school and give us so much work, let us be comfortable. Let us wear leggings. You let the seniors but not anyone below them?! The fudge nugget is wrong with you?

Having girls (mostly minors) be restricted under a dress code in order to not distract boys is inherently sexist and sounds like a rule that would be around during the time where women did not have rights. Dress codes perpetuate the notion that the female is the one to blame for a boy's actions. This can lead to dangerous ideas concerning rape culture. My comfort shouldn't be compromised in order for a boy to properly learn. Additionally, the notion that girls are distracting boys with their bodies presumes that every in the school boy is straight. This hetero-normative standard may leave some feeling unrepresented. A woman should not have to feel like she's asking for too much when it concerns liberating her own body. This doesn't even cover female students having to hide their bodies when it's hot and having to risk heat stroke. Dress codes are basically saying girl's bodies-even as minors- are inherently sexual and should be hidden.

@androo The school itself cannot issue detention without a legitimate reason and unfortunately for them, this is not one. It would also look extremely bad on their reputation if they even mentioned it as students and parents would begin to complain and they'll go from the "amazing" school it is known as to "the school that gave detention to over 700 kids because they stood up for themselves". Thanks though! I'm glad that he brought it up and thanks so much for the support :)

@ Cynthia, Zimmermman brought this up in class today, so it's safe to say that you have support from at least one teacher. Get more teachers to tell their classes about it. ..this might just work... Keep it up and maybe admin will acknowledge this (or maybe they'll just give everyone who signed this detention)

I will not tolerate a 50 year old staring at my chest, following me and my friends, making us late to class, yelling at us, and giving us several hours of detention. Im pretty sure that is illegal since the majority of us our minors. If it is considered "perverted" or "sexual harassment" outside of the school why is it considered standard policy in it??????

I'm tired of Granada humiliating girls for wearing anything that doesn't fit their dress code. ITS 97 degrees IN FEBRUARY! Instead of shaming girls for their bodies, teach boys that girls are not sexual objects....

oh also, talked to this one girl the other day and she said she would mention this to some people who are a part of ASB

teaching women that their bodies are sexualized while they are at school not only degrades them but also interferes with their education.
