used to be a student at granada and the policy was ridiculous

Pants did not fit me in high school, therefore I had detention almost everyday for wearing a skirt. Is it my fault that I'm thin? No. Should I be punished for it? Definitely not. Also, its the San Fernando Valley.. not being aloud to wear shorts during the summer/early fall mis beyond ridiculous and kind of a health hazard.

The school dress code only pushes forward rape culture. It's sexist and it needs to stop. Men can contribute their "urges" and women aren't just on this earth to be sexual beings, stop sexualizing teenage girls anyways. It's 2016 and it's time for change

I live in the Netherlands and at my school we don't have a dress code and even though I don't know how it is to have one, it sure pisses me off

I believe that modesty is empowering for many people and I am also horrified by the fact that it is so normalized by the media to bare all FOR SEEMINGLY SEXUAL PURPOSES. To end the sexualization of young girls and potentialy boys too, they must be taught to respect their own bodies, but also that if they prefer to wear shorter shorts for the weather or for fashion, that doing so does not make them sex objects.
