We shouldn't be telling people what they can and can't wear because boys may get distracted maybe we should teach boys to respect women and maybe we should punish the boys instead of the punishing girls

Hi Arthur!! Yes, I definitely plan on meeting with supporters to discuss the proposal as well as what we hope to gain from this petition. I absolutely agree with the fact that some dress code regulations should be kept in order to maintain order throughout the school. I truly appreciate your support and thank you so much!

Really? Have we learnt nothing yet? If a male can't stay focused when he catches a glimpse of a females shoulder, then he is the one who's education will be affected. In no way should a female have to hide her body to protect these males. They deserve the same education and respect that male students are given. This is why rape culture is continually spiraling. We begin teaching our children at this young age that female bodies are only for men and when they expose them, it is their fault that that man can't keep his eyes, or his hands, to himself.

Hey Cynthia! I love what you're doing and definitely believe that the current dress code is completely unfair to women while also treating Males as animals that can't function with females around them. Treating Women as "distractions" is not the way to go about social change, and only furthers a patriarchal society.
On that note, Obviously some level of dress code must be in place to keep the school somewhat professional, and I'd highly urge you to sit down with others who strongly believe what you're doing and try to draft a very concrete line of where the dress code should be set at. I think that while this may not be the final dress code, it might be a good spot to work off of and be able to push an ease of the rules to a more modern level and not treat it as a full removal of the dress code. Again, I love what you're doing, and best of luck with the movement.

Dress codes that are only aimed at girls/women are sexist. You are telling a girl that she needs to cover up herself (either legs, shoulders, chest or god forbid a freakin bra strap) in order for the boys to not get distracted.
You are valuing a boys education over a girls right to just be herself. Or to even wear a freakin tanktop when it is hot outside.

I agree with this 100% Girls should be allowed to wear whatever they want and not be stopped because boys see them as 'sexual objects'. No! Girls and young women are not seen as 'sexual objects', they are seen as normal human beings. Boys need to learn to control themselves at the ages 12-16 because it's getting ridiculous now. Schools are getting ridiculous. My college is exactly the same and we are talking about 17-19 year olds getting treated like children. We need to put an end to this pathetic outrage and if not us, who? If not now, when?

Schools are perpetuating sexualising young girls bodies while in a learning environment, teaching boys (who grow up to be men) that it's okay to sexualise women by the way they are dressed which leads to harassment and too often violent crimes including rape and murder. This must stop.

This is so sexist. Women are born to dress a certain way for MEN.dress this way, don't wear that, you can't go there, that's a boy thing. We live in a constant state of fear and having to hide ourselves because guys can't control themselves.
