I don't even go here anymore and the dress code still haunts me. I was so traumatized by making sure I wouldn't get detention that if I wear something now as a walking adult, in which my skirt isn't fingertip plus one inch or my stomach is showing or even wearing leggings, I get horrible anxiety. I don't want other girls to have to live with that kind of fear AFTER graduating. That dress code was always horrible sexist and ridiculously strict. My middle school wasn't even that strict. I'm glad someone's finally standing up!

I'm so glad someone is standing up for this. Hated the dress code.

Dress codes are foolish. People go to school to learn-- not to be reprimanded for the clothes they have selected to wear.

I went to the school and was a great student. Can't tell you how many times they tried to dress code me because I had too much cleavage in a tshirt or my capris weren't long enough

Former student, class of 2011. The dress code is completely faltered to have girls basically covered from head to toe in clothing. And I wore "thigh friendly" shorts all the time and was never dress coded. It's pretty unfortunate that such a great high school is known for having insane rules.

This petition is so needed ! When I was a student it felt as if they were intentionally seeking out girls who "broke" the dress code just to punish them.

i consider it offensive and disrespectful to young girls to have such a strict dress code. if my daughter ever got in trouble for wearing spaghetti straps on a hot day I would make sure to go to the office. I definitely believe it needs to be adjusted. it's extremely unfair, especially living in Southern California and the hot weather.

Being a past student who received detention hours on multiple accounts for ridiculous things like an undershirt strap showing and the fact that they believed my jeggings were too close to leggings , I fully agree that there Dress code is incredibly strict and ridiculous. Let me tell you, in college you're allowed to wear whatever you want and somehow boys manage to get their work done and keep their tongues in their mouths. You go girls and get this dress code change that you're seeking. But, don't abuse it or push the limit if you do receive it.
