Graduation Programs

Respectfully, I would greatly value a printed program!

We want printed graduation programs! Our friends and family are coming out to support us and all that we’ve done. My grandparents can barely operate a phone give them their programs!!

LMU this is an absurd decision. Do better.

Graduation programs (printed) are an essential part of the ceremony, especially for elderly who may not be able to use technology easily. It would also be a problem for those who can log in to the WiFi.

As a previous 2024 DSOL graduate, my family and I still have copies of the printed program that I’ll probably show my kids. Absolutely crazy decision to remove something so small from one of the most important day’s of your graduate’s lives, who have already put so much time, energy, and resources into their career.

An occasion that is as special as this should have printed graduation booklets.

This denies access to everyone attending without a smartphone and isnt the type of tradition that should be changing.

Someone’s grandpa or even dad is not going to be able to scan a QR code. Programs are a keepsake for everyone in the family and law school graduation is a huge accomplishment.

I would advocate for all to support student in any and every way shape and form possible, Education and Students are the backbone backbone of our future.

I spend $2,000 to park here, you can spend $200 to pay for graduation programs for my Nana and Grana

I am a 1L, but still think this is a ridiculous money grab by the school. I signed because I would like a physical copy without having to pay for it at my graduation, and I think current 3L’s deserve the same.

This is absolutely ridiculous and just another way for the university to stir up a tiny profit. It’s not a good step in the direction of zero waste or sustainability either considering how much waste the university generates in other programs so why take it out on your graduates who have sunk so much money into the university already? Just leave it as usual with physical programs for memento sake and eat the cost. You’re not financially struggling.

I’d like to respectfully join in the effort to preserve the tradition of physical programs at no cost to graduates and their families. I’d also like the raise the concern of accessibility—many people (especially in communities LMU prides itself on serving) will be barred from accessing a digital program. I know for myself, many of my family members are elderly and would not be able to use a QR code without much frustration, if at all. That would be shameful for LMU to charge people for a keepsake that has traditionally been free and would limit access to people who struggle with technology. Please reconsider this.

You had these students pay for the preparation and procurement of these programs. Give them to them.

Please provide the graduating class and their loved ones with printed programs! It’s the least you can do after their years of hard work, dedication, and money spent to attend law school at LMU. Not to mention the $500 graduation fee…there must be budget for printed programs with that astronomical amount.

I fully support the LMU 3L graduating class. After years of sacrifice and the burden of full tuition, plus additional unexplained fees, these students deserve the dignity of a proper commencement, including a physical program for themselves and their families. Cutting corners on such a meaningful milestone is unacceptable. LMU should honor its commitment and do right by its graduates.

You only graduate once. I have my college program saved and would do the same with a law school graduation program. Law school is a lot of hard work and an expensive investment. Surely LMU can afford to print a paper program. The fact that this grievance has to be addressed in a Petition is disheartening.
