this is wrong period! Shame on you Mr. Byrd, these kids worked hard and should be recognized!!! This is just more of the "leveling" the playing field and making sure no one's feelings get hurt because they didn't apply themselves while in school!

You, Mr. Byrd, should be ashamed of yourself. What a useless disgrace for a principal you are. I graduated with honors and I can definitely say that it was quite the accomplishment to those who did so with me that day. Every student has the right to feel proud of their personal accomplishments and you do not have any right whatsoever to take that away from them. High School Graduation is a celebration, not a role call. Get it right or don't even try to be a principal.

I graduated from the first full CvHS class 2 years ago. High Honors and Honors, including my brother who worked extremely hard, went before I did. They deserved the recognition for what they did academically. Knowing what Byrd wants to do disappoints me greatly and I view it as a sign of disrespect to the people who worked so hard for 4 years.

my son had worked very hard to keep his gpa above a 4.0. I don't think it's fair for Mr. Byrd to change everything up for this high school. He is giving our high school a very bad name. we are becoming a laughing stock.

I have been looking forward to sitting in the front at graduation for the past two years. It would be a moment of great pride for myself and my family. Sitting in alphabetical order rather than in order of class rank with the other high honors graduates would be a disappointment for me.

When I graduated, the number one thing I looked forward to was getting recognized for making good choices and excel in my grades. High honors was something I worked for throughout my high school career. Those students who did better deserve to be recognized respectfully. Mr. Byrd is wrong and it is not the first time...

Actually, graduation is time to honor ALL students who have met the requirements for graduation. Some students work just as hard to earn a 3.0 as those who earn a 5.0 and they should all been shown an equal amount of respect. I've attended several graduations at high schools in both Wake and Johnston County over the years and they always call students alphabetically. Honor students are recognizable by their honor stoles or cords. Most schools have an awards night for Honor students where they are recognized, separate from graduation.

Students that achieve above and beyond should absolutely be recognized for their efforts! These are students that others have looked up to and teachers counted on, all 4 years of high school. In the end they deserve more than a "passing mention" in the program. They deserve verbal recognition in front of their peers.

This means more than colored cords. These kids earned this and to have it yanked weeks before they walk is wrong. If this is what Admin wanted, it should have been decided in August, not May.
