I am an alumni of Eastchester High school since 1990 the graduation robes have been the same since. There is no reason to change it now. This is terrible.

An important question, that no one has raised, is.......Who is proposing (or demanding) this change? Is it a group of students, or is it the board of ed. There are two different agendas, here. Is it the board trying to be politically correct, by jumping on this band wagon, JUST BECAUSE. Or is an individual, or a few, who have raised the subject. If it's an individual and personal plea, trying to be open minded, I can accept raising the subject for future consideration. As I totally support the idea of TRADITION, which I discussed in a previous comment, change takes time. The subject should be brought up for discussion, and not crammed down our throats. One more thing... I think, more importantly, at this time, the school would better serve the students, by offering classes on tolerance, empathy, change, acceptance, etc. Therefore, repeating a prior comment....We are made up of 2 genders. Always were and always will be. If there are transgendered individuals who want to be recognized, as individuals, then maybe creating a third color could address this subject. Something just occured to me though. I don't think it's a case of wanting to show their "colors...I think, it's more about them not wanting to be associated with making a public statememt about either gender. THAT SUBJECT IS A HORSE OF A DIFFERENT COLOR. And again, we need discussion, to help us ALL, at least, begin to understand this new reality, of the world today.

As an alumnus of EHS I was always so proud to say I was an Eagle but if the school ruins this tradition and becomes one of those prissy politically correct gerber baby soft schools then I for sure won’t ever step foot into EHS again. Wake up Board of Ed. Guys wear blue girls wear white. Don’t change

There should be 1-color for all boys and girls, let the seniors choose the 1-color that best reflects their school.

I will tell you what this is insane ask anyone I can sow fabric like a Rapunzel, you cut a boys gown and a girls gown in 1/2 and I will so the 2 half's and sow them back together problem solved! WTF! Class of 1984!

This is America, where majority rules and it seems the majority has spoken. Do not force the agenda of the few upon the class of 2018. This is another example of political correctness gone wild. KEEP THE TRADITION!!!!! These kids have worked to hard for this. It’s their day. Don’t ruin it for them. Great job Alexandra Rodriguez and the class of 2018 for speaking your minds and taking action.
