At Buckeye Valley High School, there are many clubs who are I represented at our graduation ceremony. Currently, the policy is that only NHS and 4.0 students may wear decorative elements on their cap and gown, which sends a clear message that only academic achievements are to be honored. Global Scholars, FFA, Thespian Society members, students who pass the biliteracy exam, and honors students all receive cords and are barred from wearing them and being recognized on their graduation.

The school really needs to update this policy. It feels super unfair to the seniors who put years into clubs and programs only to be told it doesnt count.
Ridiculous. My kid worked just as hard for FFA as the NHS kids did. Let them wear their cords.
