I don't know what her cucumstances were, why she chose to take her life. I xan only think that her burden became too great to bear and she fekt she had no other alternative. Rather than lookinng at it as "glorifying suicide" I think it would best be served as a symbol of taking this opportunity to open dialogue with young people and give them soneone to talk to without judgement or repercussions. Young people are faced with so many different forms of peer pressure and bullying, things that we as teens and young adults didn't have to. Please, put the chair there "For Julie" and help save these children.

Why not? It shouldn't be about the situation, but about a beautiful young lady who meant so much to so many

She deserves so much more than just a seat at graduation, her name should be called and her parents given a diploma.

This is so bogus. It doesn't glorify suicide. It honors her life not her death. Give the family and friends that moment to atleast have a memorial chair for her. After everything they've been through with her passing, you can give them a chair.

This does not glorify suicide. It shows that she should've been there with us. She deserves this.

This shouldn't be recognized as "glorifying" suicide. It should be a way in which to open a dialogue regarding mental health, bullying, suicide, and outreach programs. Shame on the school for denying this under the disguise of "not glorifying suicide"- when they obviously have an issue that is bigger than themselves and cannot fathom how to begin to correct it. Well, you can start by putting up this chair and staring that dialogue. Some students will only get that from their school environment. Times have changed- it's time our conversations and modes of involvement follow suit.
