Having to be apart of a school that claims to be diverse but doesn't allow students to represent success through their culture at one of the most important peaks of a lifetime is absolutely appalling and should be fixed for students to do so.

I'm doing laundry and this gave me motivation to do my laundry. Therefore, I will sign it.
Real talk, diverse school that isn't allowed to show it? What's the point?

This is a beneficial and needed petition for families who want to express their culture for graduation.

In an environment where administration claims to promote diversity, inclusion, and respect, denying students (specifically minority students of color) the right to wear graduation garb discredits and invalidates all that they claim to stand for. Not only is this a show of disregard and disrespect to the cultures of the students being restricted, it also devalues the importance of education for low-advantage families and students. This rule banning graduation garb perpetuates a culture of exclusion and is an absolute disgrace to the name American Canyon high school.
