It is completely baffling to me how anyone ever thought gerrymandering was in the spirit of democracy.

Gerrymandering is really where the biggest voting fraud is perpetrated by the Republicans and is supposed to be legal.

Even the Republican 5th district congressman seems to think that his district, the largest in the state- larger than the state of New jersey, is too large to represent adequately.

Thank you for your consideration in this vital matter in the interest of protecting Virginia citizens by the creation of fair districts for all voters.

Virginia is a mixture a conservative and liberal individuals, but with how districting has previously been conducted (i.e. Gerrymandering), influential voters have been concentrated in influential pockets to secure elections for only one party. This is problematic not only in that it biases elections, but forces candidates to adopt the values of only one side to win the votes of the voters in the most influential districts, instead of holding a more moderate view and open stance to appeal to people across party lines. Legislators should not be shackled by the whims of certain voters and only focus on how to appeal to them. Districts should therefore be redrawn to give the votes of all people an equal voice. Instead of oddly shaped districts to capture just one ideology, they need to be redrawn based on natural geography or diversity (e.g. a mixture of cities, suburbs, and rural areas). With recent divisions caused by the presidential election, we need to take action now to moderate politicans, so that open discussion and compromise become the norm. Thank you.

Addressing the structural issues that assure safe seats in perpetuity in violation of the one person-one vote principle obstructs justice and perpetuates inequality. Please act to fix gerrymandering in VA.

We must have districts based on sensible geographic and census data. Gerrymandering is not true representative democracy.

Gerrymandering contributes to political gridlock in Virginia and in the U.S. Congress by favoring more partisan candidates.

Gerrymandered districts are safe districts for tyranny. We should follow our state's motto!

This is a critical, non-partisan issue. Voters should pick their representatives, not vice versa.

We need redistricting reform now. The 5th district is a joke.

Gerrymandering is a terrible thing. My vote for Congress simply does not count.

The voters need to pick their representatives, not the other way around.
