Gov. Newsom: Please declare Auto Dealerships as Essential Businesses during the lockdown

Please make dealerships an essential business.

Good afternoon I Xochitl Robles is sole owner of a used car dealership and this is my full income for my home. With out me being able to work I can not provide to my home and pay my creditors I ask that we be essential and we can bring back up the economy with all of our companies out there that had to close their doors and send their employees home. Thanks

FIVE REASONS WHY! 1. Without reliable vehicles, people will not be able to return to work. 2. The Vehicle industry employs hundreds of thousands of Californians. 3. With large lots, it is very easy for Dealers to follow social distancing guidelines at their Dealerships. 4. We need sales tax dollars to help pay for the cost of fighting this pandemic. 5. Cars are enclosed to help people practice social distancing.

We need our dealerships open. People do not want to take mass transit in a time like this. they need a car.

What if an ER staff wrecks their car and needs a new one? Should they further expose themselves to further health issue and delays by taking public transportation?

Lets get working!!

Keep car dealers open

I consider that auto delaers should remain open since they aren't high traffic business' that are taking the proper precautions in keeping everyone safe. In addition to this it would help keeping those employees hired and less people on unemployment.

People are still having accidents and needing to replace their vehicles, people are still having breakdowns and having the need to purchase a replacement vehicle.

Being able to decide whether I want to repair my vehicle or buy a new one should be my choice, and for that I need an option of doing so.

Car sales should be considered essential since we provide transportation services for all the essential workers.

Many folks need reliable, safe, non-public transportation to stay employed or transportation to get employed. Auto retail can be conducted in a safe manner
