Please vote no to rezoning, the density proposed with condos, townhomes and apartments will overwhelm our 24’ wide roads. This will put 84 new driveways and 10 new entrances on the only access roads to 3 substantial subdivisions. Imagine construction & resident parking, people backing out, kids chasing balls and school bus stops on roads wide enough for only one lane flow when this happens. Not why we moved here. Take it off the island where the infrastructure can support it.

Please resist the reasoning proposed for Goosepond Island Drive. The roads and infrastructure did not contemplate high volume traffic nor was it remotely suspected when the decision to invest significant amounts in what is a residential ONLY area.

Most of us that live in this area moved here for some very simple reasons. We wanted to get away from the hustle and bustle of Huntsville, the traffic congestion and noise of living in a busy area, and the continual building that never seems to end. Instead most of us chose to move and enjoy a serene and tranquil environment such as this, with all the natural beauty and wildlife that comes with that. We are opposed to rezoning to a P-2 district, as it will destroy the very reason most of us moved to this location in the first place, along with the investment we have in our properties. We have all worked hard to get here, and do not want to see all of this taken away from us. I firmly believe there are other more suitable locations than here. We urge you to vote NO to rezoning.

The addition of over 680 new homes in this small area will overwhelm and create hazardous traffic conditions on the two lane roads that lead from Goosepond Drive to 3 existing neighborhoods. If any portion of this is approved, the construction and resident entrance should be off Goosepond Drive which is a four lane. Even adding lanes to Goosepond Island Drive and North Shore Drive would create hazardous conditions while construction is under way.

I do not agree with it. It needs to stay a nice quiet neighborhood and it will devalue our neighborhood
