Re: Sewer and Water System in the Golf View Road and 161st Ave. Neighborhoods

It has been brought to our attention that a Petition might be made for the addition of a sewer and water system to our neighborhoods. We believe this is not necessary or feasible for an overall construction project, as well as the addition of a high monthly bill we do not want. As individual septic systems fail in the future, it will still be less expensive for the homeowner to put in a new private system, especially when factoring in the monthly costs. In addition, some neighbors have built newer homes and have spent thousands of dollars installing septic systems and wells which will adequately service their homes for many years. The current economic climate of our entire nation makes the project, its cost, and its burden on the citizens extremely unwise to pursue. At this point, we do not see the value in adding public sewer and water to our neighborhoods. As such, we respectfully request that the County not pursue this action any further, including an immediate end to the spending for planning, consultants and any and all endeavors related to this project, as we do not wish to incur any costs associated with this infeasible project.

Sincerely,

Golf View Road and 161st Ave. Neighborhoods

I have been hearing from so many of you who are just as concerned about these costs as I am. It is overwhelming to see how much this weighs on everyone in our neighborhood, and I am grateful that you are willing to speak up about it.

I am honestly overwhelmed by the response this petition has received lately. It is clear that so many of us feel the same way about this project burdening our community. The momentum is entirely due to you taking the time to speak up for our neighborhood.

Ridiculous price tag. We just put in a new system a few years ago and spending that much money again is just not happening.

50k plus per house is absolutely insane. My septic system is fine and I dont want to pay some massive fee for something I dont need or want.
